It is also the only Hawaiian island with navigable rivers. Lihue also boasts excellent beaches, scenic waterfalls, and a great deal of local history. Beyond the canyon lies beautiful Kokee State Park, a realm of lofty cliffs adorned with the emerald splendors of native forests. Visitors, especially those who plan on going on a long hike through this verdant area, should check out the Kokee Natural History Museum.
